PMBC are staging round 2 of the XC series in Pemberton on 25/4/10. ALL proceeds of this event go back into the Pemberton MTB park.

Paul Neve of 3 chillies trail designs has done a brilliant job with the XC circuit at the newly formed MTB park.

There is a 1.5km skills / juniors track which works well in both dirrections and there is a "National Level" XC circuit in the hills behind the swimming pool that only works in a clockwise direction. Dirt jumps are also currently under construction.

OLD = As Previously listed at top of this page, the trophy presentation for the 2009 State series is happening at the AGM this coming Tuesday night.

Mike Daws previously listed all of the class placing on this page, so you should already know where you placed in the State series.

I have attached a the list of trophy winners for you to look at again. If you are the recipient of one of these trophies, could you please make the effort to attend the AGM on Tuesday so that we can hand them all out and don't end up with a box of trophies left over.

These are really nice Jarrah Trophies, custom made for us with no plastic on them at all.

Exciting new format for 2010 XC season

As you will notice, alot of work has gone into the 2010 XC calendar, which can be sumarized as below;

The committee discussed each race on its own merit, the order of the events, dates, clashing events and which tracks to use. We have tried to shorten the season and space the races more evenly, every 2 to 3 weeks.

There are 7 rounds of a cross country (XC) race series, based on how most XC races are normally run or have been run in the past. (UCI Olympic format) These races will be run by PMBC.

Points for the "7 round XC race series series" will be as per MTBA guidelines (same as we have been using) and dropping 1 round of points as per the PMBC constitution.

These 7 rounds are not called State Rounds or Club Rounds, kind of a blend of both.

Entry cost for the series is $20 per round (a cross between Club and State races)

Any one who "enters" all 7 rounds gets a free entry to the State Champs which will be at Murray Valley (all going well)

AGM's for PMBC and WAMBA inc XC State series presentation

Please Read the attached Notice for the upcoming Annual general Meeting for PMBC and WAMBA on Tuesday second of February 2010.

These will be run as 2 separate AGM?s quickly and consecutively on the same night at the same venue.

Presentations for the 2009 XC State series will also be held on the same night.

See you there!!!!

Australian Sports Commission grants of $500 per junior

Bron Comment: National Rounds are coming up this summer, why not put in for a $500 grant to help cover your cost of getting over East to compete. http://www.ausport.gov.au/champions

---

Young coaches and officials can now apply for their share of the Australian Sports Commission?s annual $1.6 million Local Sporting Champions grants ? an Australian Government initiative to support junior sport.

Previously only available to young athletes, the Local Sporting Champions grants eligibility criteria has been broadened to recognise the importance of supporting young coaches and officials ? crucial to Australia?s sporting grass roots.

?Sporting competitions and achievements would not be possible without our young coaches and officials and these grants are one way the Australian Sports Commission is recognising their commitment and dedication to their chosen sporting field,? said Judy Flanagan, ASC Director of Community Sport.
