Skills clinics for everyone in 2010
Well you asked for it and now you've got it, Skills clinics galore to choose from.
Kalamunda Cycles are running Saturday afternoon sessions that are free to PMBC members or the cost of a day licence if you are a non member.
Avanti Plus in Cannington (along with Mike Thorman) are staging Skills clinics, come ride days and bike demos on Sundays.
It is fantastic to see these shops that support mountain biking putting time and effort back into the sport. And for that PMBC sincerely thank them.
These sessions are being run by the shops so for further information please contact them directly as per the information sheet attached.

We Need Commissaires (MTB Umpires)
We are looking for people interested in becoming commissaries!!!!
As an affiliated club of MTBA, we are obliged to be using ?Commissaries? at ?State? races from now on (2010) and at Club races from 2011. Commissaries can better be described as ?umpires? for MTB events. We don't have any commissaries yet, so this is why none of our events are ?State Races? yet.
These rules have been set by MTBA and are in the best interest of improving the image of MTB races. They are trying to make the races safer and look more professional. As a point of interest, Road Races or Track Cycling races cannot even happen if there is not a Commissarie present.
Some of the roles a commissarie plays are safety coordinator for the riders, Marshalls and spectators. They act as an adjudicator for any protests that may occur. They over see what the race director is doing and double check the timing and results.
Under 13 Results and Points for 2010
Please find attached the Under 13 Results and Points for 2010.
Please note that there is no entry fee for Under 13 riders. Only a $5 day license or MTBA membership if they chose to join.
The under 13's track is so good at Pemberton that the seniors race is also using it!!!!!!!
The First PMBC Endorsed Event On the 2010 Calendar is GERALDTON 25-04-10
Geraldton MTB DH Rd 1 Geraldton: Sunday 25th April
Well it?s back; bigger; bolder, badder?than ever?PMBC Club series 2010! The first event on the calendar will be the Geraldton Round which has been fully endorsed by PMBC and will probably become part of a Super 7 inter-clubs series. This race is intended to be a welcome back to DH racing and more importantly to welcome new, first-time racers to WA's club race series.
The race-track will be sent down one of the newer tracks at the Geraldton fun park. It starts up at the usual starting area, on top of the canyon then you pedal into a couple of steep cut-in berms before racing towards the 1st jump. The rest will be a secret because they are altering the last race track to make a few new surprises for us when we return.

PMBC DH Committee in Crisis!!!
Hello to all dedicated PMBC DH Riders,
Well it's come to the boiling point and the club's DH future is in jepardy. I am now the only official member of the PMBC committee that is a DHer. So what I need to know is...if there are any people out there that are willing to help keep PMBC DH alive. I got into the Vice4 Presidents position over two years ago because nobody else would do it and the club was then in crisis as well. I have learnt a lot and I know we can do it better.
But I need help a great team like we once had. So here it goes anyone who thinks they can give some time to the sport, no matter how big or small, could we please meet at the Inglewood Pub this coming Tuesday 23rd March 2010 (6:30pm).
Hope to see many of your faces there, so we can work as a team to save DH in WA.
Cheers,
CL-Clubba
Friends of the Goat Farm
The Goat Farm Mountain Bike Park is a very well used facility with little or no maintenance.
We are setting up a "Friends of the Goat Farm" working group to do small busy bees a few times through the year
This group will be broken into 2 or 3 divisions XC, DH and 4X
We need expressions of interest in people willing to take this job on. We need team leaders and volunteers to do this work. It is also worth mentioning that DEC reward those that do volunteer work in the form of a National Parks Pass if you have 50 hours volunteer work in 12 months (I think)
Not only will this group provide well needed and overdue maintenance, but will also show DEC that mountain bikers are willing to put something back into the sport.
This is really important guys, if we don't put something back into maintenance on Legal trails, it is unlikely DEC will co-operate with the clubs and WAMBA to legalize the illegal trails.
